BACKGROUND


Ron Taggart has 20 plus years of diverse and cross-functional industrial experience in all levels of Supply Chain (external) and Materials (internal) professional experience from senior management to shop floor practitioner.  Ron has gained this knowledge in various industrial environments including Manufacturing, Warehousing and Distribution, Property Management and Construction.  Self-motivated and Customer focused Ron has successfully created sustainable delivery solutions that fit the business environments of his clients and their customers.

OVERVIEW

 
Operations Management:
Ron’s experience in Supply Chain and Materials Management began as a Buyer and has progressed keeping pace with changes to industry best practices.  The Supply Chain touches all aspects of the delivery of Goods and Services in an organization from hard goods to the flow of information.  Each assignment possesses its own unique challenges and Ron’s background and experience in Operations and knowledge of how departments interact ensures an all-encompassing approach to problem solving.
  • Redesigned the shop floor layout, increased production capacity 60%;
  • Reorganized the Warehouse to increase capacity by 30% without adding any additional CAPEX to annual operating budget;
  • Built strong lines of communication between Sales, Finance and Engineering departments to open dialogue and create opportunity for problem solving.
 
Supply Chain Management:  
From supplier to end user the supply chain is a continuous inter-active flow of processes and procedures.  Finding the source of the problem requires a full understanding of how changes in one department can affect other departments downstream.  Ron’s ability to communicate with staff and build trust between departments creates an open dialogue, addressing all points of view and facilitates a mutually agreed upon solution. 
  • 55% Reduction in Inventory from $4.5 Million to $2.25 Million using sales / inventory analysis;
  • Introduced consolidated monthly billing for MRO supplies reducing invoicing backlog by 50%;
  • Implemented Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) system reducing Service Dept. inventory by $1.5 Million.
 
Materials / Information Management:  
When a problem has been isolated within a department or facility a full process review using LEAN practices allows for a systematic approach to resolving backlogs and roadblocks.  This encourages input from the end use and allows for a repeatable and sustainable solution to be reached.   Once successfully proven the solution is then documented and inserted into the company standard policy and procedures manuals and all staff will then receive consistent training and evaluation to ensure consistent quality standards.
